Games at alternate fields Aug. 28
over 1 year ago |
||
A reminder that our August 28 games take place at Carrière, Barrington and Tauvette fields because the Potvin-Shefford facility will be used by the Gloucester Dragons for their Annual Soccer Day. Please see GAMES in the menu above for your team’s venue then. Note as well that no official games are scheduled the weekend after, Sept. 4, but a kick-about will be held on field 5 at Potvin-Shefford for those wanting a few extra touches on the ball. |

Covid cases rising: Minimize close contacts
over 1 year ago |
||
Given the upward trend in Covid-19 cases since late July, driven by what Ottawa Public Health says is the hyper contagiousness of the Delta variant, we now ask all teams to forego post-game fist and elbow bumps, to avoid the closer contact these involve. Instead, consider saluting the referee and your opponents with collective applause over the head after the game. Also, please further increase your distancing on the sidelines and avoid prolonged 1v1 contact on the field. Cede the ball rather than exhale at length on each other. We know, it sucks. But the BASL cares too much about its players (friends) to make light of a situation like this. We can still have fun while staying even safer… and improving our chances of playing indoor soccer as well. Merci encore de votre compréhension. |

Use TeamSnap for Covid-19 pregame self-screening
over 1 year ago |
||
As of the week of July 19, we’re switching to TeamSnap’s Covid-19 self-assessment tool for all players. Be you a full-timer or a spare, it’s critical that you immediately a) accept the TeamSnap invitation you received the week of July 12 and b) starting July 24, complete the platform’s pregame self-screening form BEFORE—again, BEFORE—you come to the field every week. That means as soon as you get up Saturday morning, as the feature goes live only eight hours before game time. To play, you absolutely must have first completed your self-screening at home. The pregame/pre-arrival screening is a directive of Ottawa Public Health, and the BASL is bound by it under its field rental permit with the Gloucester Hornets. Thanks for your cooperation. Merci de votre collaboration. |
