Frank Red Hots capture Founders' Cup

Well, they pulled it off: Frank Lamontagne’s Redmen snuck away with both sets of BA champ golf shirts on Saturday, October 13, as they squeezed by Blue Man Group 1-0 in a wonderfully played Cup final on the Potvin NW pitch. This marks the first time in about eight years that a squad has managed to win both the regular-season title and the Founders’ Cup.

Bravo to both sides, and special kudos to Red Hots keeper, Bodo Jung, whose heroics in goal made the difference according to many of the 50 or so boisterous onlookers.

Indoor Cup winners/ Wasabi's THE name/Inaugural indoor Spirit of the League Award
almost 2 years ago

Hats off to Mark D’Agostino’s grey-jerseyed troops for their 3-0 win against Paul Kitcher’s Undertakers in the BASL’s indoor cup final on April 26, in front of 40 or so other BA faithful at the Gloucester Superdome. Comfy grey (an omen?) hoodies were awarded to the champs.

Brian Garson’s Wasabi Warriors lined up at the LCBO the next day after winning the best-team-name contest, each walking away with a 10$ gift card from the provincial purveyor of wine and spirits.

Finally, the first-ever Indoor Spirit of the League Award was presented in absentia to Nem Jevtovic at the pub following the final. Nem missed the second half of his crucial third-round cup game to take his injured buddy Jose (from the opposing tem) to the hospital. Class redefined.
